Day 5

When in Rome.....

There wasn't a whole lot of touring downtown Denver given the condition we were in from the day and night before. We grabbed lunch, sat by the pool, and waited for Happy Hour. Pete's friends live only a couple blocks from Rockies Stadium, you can actually see into the stadium from their porch. Things run a little differently here in Denver than they do in Red Sox Nation. We went to the box office at 5pm and paid the equivalent of a roudtrip ride on the T (4 dollars) for right field line seats. It was a good thing we didn't pay much because Happy Hour ended up being 3 hours and we arrived in the bottom of the 4th. The place we went to Happy Hour was across the street from the Denver Real World House. Brendan was a complete tourist and took pictures of the house that really isn't even there anymore. Sweet Rockies though, they pulled out the victory against the Dbacks.

After the game we went to this bar where you everytime you buy a round you flip a coin and if you call it right you get your round for free. (Pete just emerged from Fraz's room as this is being typed, "WOW, I got really banged up last night, must be the altitude huh?") Yeah, Pete the altitude buddy. Should be noted Pete never once flipped a coin and Brendan gambled on a big round of drinks and then lost the flip. When in Rome..... . Pete spent most of the night repeatedly saying "where is Cholie (Colie from the Real World), I want to meet Cholie". We both got pretty banged up (the trend continues) and now have to drive to Jackson Hole, WY (9 hours) which after the last trip is a somewhat light day although now in addition to the kamakazee deer we also have elk with big horns to manuever through.

As you can tell from this blog we really didn't do much in Denver. We are resting up for our 4 day excursion to the mountains of Wyoming for some outdoorsman activities. Keep tuned for the ride to Jackson Hole, should be one of the best so far with the scenary and our current physican condition. Its also Brendan's birthday today, so Pete already promised we'd stop at a rest stop somewhere and Brendan can pick anything he wants from the vending machine.

Thanks Conga and Fraz for letting us stay at your place and showing us around Denver.
