Chi-town (Disclaimer: This blog is being written extrememly hungover so it probably is not that funny)
We departed early for our trip to Chicago, traveling through the rest of Ohio and Indiana. It was an uneventful drive until Pete came up with the brilliant idea of stopping off in South Bend, IN to see the University of Notre Dame. Cheer Cheer for Old Notre Dame. Wake up the echoes cheering her name..... Beautiful campus, sweet stadium, God's country, good stop.
6 hours later arrived in the South Side of Chicago. Good thing we didn't have to stop off for anything as this area of Chicago somewhat resembles Compton. Eventually we ended up in downtown Chicago. We saw US Cellular field (home of the White Sox), Lake Michigan, Sears tower, and Soldier Field. We made our way to Linkin Park to meet up with Pete's buddy Josh. Linkin Park is on the north side of the city so this was trip one through downtown Chicago. After dropping Josh off at his hotel on the southern end of of the city (trip two through the downtown area) Pete had almost killed multiple pedestrian while asking repeatedly out the window, "Excuse me, do you know where i could find Chicago?". We then had to go drop our car off in Winnetka, IL (north of the city and also home of the Home Alone house) so we made trip three through downtown Chicago to Pete's friend Meg's house. Pete and I had our first fight. We kissed and made up though. Her mom cooked us a lovely dinner after we barged in on their Mother's Day celebration. We then departed for downtown Chicago again to Meg's apartment. We have been through downtown so many times at this point Pete was giving other people directions.
We then headed out to a bar called Stanley's. And then something happpened that will happen many times on this trip, some random girl tries to pick up Pete and Brendan ends up standing in the middle of the bar pretending to be watching the TV. So this one we will call "Kerri". Kerri, liked Pete and Brendan, well probably just Pete, and used some cheesy line about Boston accents to start talking to him. This was all fine until Pete got bored, left for 45 minutes to talk to three other attractive women, leaving Brendan to entertain her all this time while she waited for Pete to return. Kerri then took us to another bar where we met a crazy Irishman. (Anyone who has been around Pete and the Irish knows, it usually ends up badly as he finds some way to insult them without trying) The Irishman and his friend, who happened to be a BC High guy class 93, were wasted and liked to get really close to you while talking, laugh at their own jokes, and then punch you in the shoulder. After an hour of the Irishmen, the BC High guy, and 4 strippers on their night off, we left and passed out in Meg's living room.
We apologize for this awful entry we our both experiencing extreme extreme hangovers....they will get better. Chicago for the day then off to "Sunshine on my goddamn shoulders John" Denver tomm.
Song of the Day: Averil Levine "Girlfriend"
Roadkill: 9
Times Pete looked at his Trio: at this point its not even worth counting. It would be out the window if it wasn't also giving us directions.
